Calculate Dissolved Nutrient Concentration

Calculate Dissolved Nutrient Concentration

If you’re dissolving a fertilizer nutrient for fertigation, whether through an injector or from a tank, use the form below to determine your mixing ratio. Keep in mind that if you’re using sodium nitrate (a.k.a. Chilean nitrate), it contains 28% sodium which can damage foliage if too high a concentration is used.

NOTE: Solubility data in the table below are NOT mix ratios. They are maximum dissolution rates. If not diluted properly, these maximum concentrations will likely kill plants. The materials listed below must be in a soluble form. Spreadable formulations may not dissolve properly.

Fertilizer Solubility (pounds/gallon of water)
Copper Sulfate 2.6 @ 32°F
Epsom Salts (Magnesium Sulfate) 5.9 @ 32°F
Ferrous Sulfate 1.3
Manganese Sulfate 8.7 @ 32°F
Potassium Sulfate 1.0 @ 77°F
Sodium Nitrate 6.1 @ 32°F
Solubor 1.0 @ 32°F
Zinc Sulfate 8
